Board of Elders
Mike Anderson and his wife Saundy have been married for
over 30
years. They have two grown sons, Jason and J.T. Jason is married to Yoly
and they have three sons, A.J., Mike and Maddux and daughter, Eva Grace. J.T. is married to Tara and they
have two sons, Jackson and Grady and daughter, Reese. His family also includes Kellie and Brett McGriff
and their two sons, Zach and Cole in Grinnell and Lisa and Mark Buchenhagen, who
live in Marion, Iowa.
Mike is employed by Windstream Corporation, and is responsible for
regulatory and legislative activities in Iowa, Minnesota, and Illinois. Mike enjoys team sports, golf, and reading. He has been a
teacher and Elder at GCC for many years.
Danny
Carroll has lived in Grinnell since marrying Joy in 1975. They have
3 married children and one foster son. Curtis and his wife, Sarah, have
two daughters Miriam and
Maggie. Daughter, Joni, is married to Mike Boone and their youngest
daughter, Danae is
married to Andy Hewitt. All three of their families live in Ankeny.
Their foster son, John McWilliams lives with his wife, Pam, in Des
Moines. Danny worked for 10 years as Director of Community Relations for
Iowa Telecom. Danny and Joy own and operate
Carroll's Pumpkin
Farm and Corn Maze, a business they began in 1991 so families could
enjoy a fall farm experience. Danny enjoys participating in Triathlons
and he and Joy enjoy riding their motorcycle. Joy's parents, Don and
Jane Thompson were charter members of GCC. Danny and Joy appreciate GCC which has been their source
of support and spiritual growth over the years.
Ken
Crandall has been married to his wife Edna for 46 years. They have
two grown children. He has been a self employed carpenter for 28 years.
He likes traveling, and attending southern Gospel Music Concerts. He is
presently the Building and Grounds Chairman and has served as an elder
for many years.
Tom Dillman and his wife Dawn, have been
married over 30 years and have been members since 1983 when they moved
to Grinnell. They have farmed together since their marriage and
have three children, Amy, Matt, and Amber. Matt is married to
Heather and they have one son, Caden. Amy has an adopted daughter
from Russia, Norah. Tom has taught Sunday School and served as
Elder for many years. He is Chairman of the Finance Committee.
He has also served on the local school board. Much of his leisure time
is spent with his family and their activities and flying.
Mark
Hendrickson, age 56, has farmed for 37 years on a century farm in
northern Poweshiek County. He is married to Nancy (GCC church treasurer
and part time secretary). They have four children. Kelly (married to
Scott) Robinson now ministering in Rolla, MO. Jamie (married to Scott)
Durr. Scott works at Farm Bureau Insurance and Jamie is a stay at home
mom. Ryan is their son and farms with Mark. Laura is an ESL
teacher at Moscow Evangelical Christian Seminary in Moscow, Russia. Mark
has been an elder since 1994 and occasionally leads worship. Mark and
Nancy enjoy RVing, spending time with their children and seven
grandchildren, Levi, Ellie, Justin, Ian, Nat, Sam and Zac.
Randy Lidtka
and his wife Janet have been married since 1979. They have four
children, Katie (married to Dustin Cummings, daughter Cadence), Nicolle
(married to Jonathon Miller), Kyle and Bryce. Randy is a diversified
farmer 7 miles north of Grinnell. He enjoys reading, traveling, camping
and spending time with his family. He and Janet have taught children's
Sunday School at GCC for over 20 years.
Terry Lowry and his wife Linda have been married since 1976.
They have two grown sons, Brian (married to Carrie) and Jason. They all
live at rural Searsboro and attend G.C.C. Brian & Carrie are school
teachers and Jason is a surveyor/designer for Jasper Country Road Dept.
in Newton. Terry is a grain and livestock farmer along with his brother,
Gary for 31 years. He and Linda have taught Sunday School at GCC for
many years. He has been an Elder for 4 years. Terry and Linda enjoy
their family, short vacations, flowers and gardening and woodworking.
Terry is interested in Civil War history.
Jack Morrison is married 33 years to Jackie. They have 3
daughters, Sara married to John (lives in Norwalk) and has three sons, Jordan,
Ethan and Luke. Meagan, married to John (lives in Lincoln, NE) and has one son, Johnny
Jack. Katie who lives in Waukee with her husband Matt and their dog,
Oliver. He has
attended GCC for 34 years and has been an elder for 14 years. He is the Director of Plant
Operations at the Mayflower Homes, Inc. in Grinnell and is currently in
his 25th year. He enjoys his grandsons, golfing,
fishing, and hunting.
Ed
Poush and his wife Sharon have been married for 30 years. They have
four children, Matt, Mike (his wife Misty, daughter Madeline), Jenny and Seth. Ed is the
Associate Director of Mayflower home since 1988. He has been an Elder
for several years and occasionally teaches adult Sunday school class. Ed
enjoys cooking, music, reading and gardening.
Dave
Vander Linden has been married to his wife, Sue for 32 years. They
called Lynnville home for 26 years before moving to Grinnell in June of
2004. They have attended GCC for 9 years, where Dave enjoys teaching
adult Sunday School. Dave and Sue feel privileged to be a part of
the GCC family and worshiping here. They have two grown daughters.
Abby is married to Marcus Taylor, and they live in Albuquerque, NM with
their 2 children, Maddox 2 and Lexi 4 months.
Sarah and her husband, Daniel Zagami live in Antananarivo, Madagascar
serving as missionaries in Africa Inland Mission. They are
expecting their first child in October. Dave founded
Vander Linden Construction, Inc. in 1977 and continues to manage and
work there. In his free time, Dave enjoys being a grandpa, playing golf and
traveling.
Gary
Wilson and his wife Marsha have been married 39 years. They have two
grown children, Greg and Emily and five grandchildren. Gary is the
Building's Manager for the state Iowa for Windstream and also farms the
family farm. Gary enjoys working outdoors, airplanes and antiques. He
has been at GCC for 30 years, teaching Sunday School for 20 + years and
an elder for 10 years.
